Took the morning off from the Rally and did some shopping and checked out a couple nearby campgrounds. The fancy one with the pool and other amenities had us parking nearly as close together as we are here in the racetrack lots. The park next to us is nearly that close together, BUT only has six sites and is surrounded by the hills...quiet...critters...dark nights full of stars. And it's close to half the price...we'll be heading just down the road today.
We've looked at this hill on the east end of the track (background is looking towards Phoenix) ... We climbed the hill.
In the 1850s it was surveyed and the area's streets were laid out in a grid from here. This beautiful marker is now a National Historic Site. Oh, security told us he was supposed to not allow us to go here, so he turned his back...nice guy...gave us the information.
Here's the Rally on Sunday afternoon...things are winding down...many RVs have left...not so many day shoppers from the area. We bought rally t-shirts for half-price.
And we got a geocache! Nah, this isn't the side we climbed.
Tonight's entertainment was super great!! It's a Beatles Tribute Band, Ticket to Ride.
We sang along with all the songs...stomped our feet when we loved something...whooped n hollered...LOL
Great ending for the Rally!
