We're back to Boo n Ethel's side yard for a couple more days. We gave up our rental spot, when we left for Daytona. It's been a really busy time this past week...happy hours...Sequence...getting the RV washed...potlucks...meals out with friends...walks and more
We made it to the Lettuce Festival again this year. Five dollars each to get in...picked up our 'free' box of lettuce varieties...ate free samples...gave our tickets to young families, as we left. Then had 5 Guys burgers n yummy fries before heading home.
One of the features of Good Sam Rallys is to 'give back' to the area. A group will be going to an area for a day to help rebuild it, and I did a couple small fleece blankets for the LinusProject donation. The LinusProject gives the blankets to babies, children and teens in hospitals, social agencies or wherever a child needs a hug. It's a good project and easy. I could have done more...hmmm
Did a little hike on the northwest side of the city through a wetlands area Yuma and the Quechan Indian Tribe is developing. "Trail closed"? Didn't stop us..lol. It's going to be a beautiful park one day.
This is along our hike..Arizona on the left, California on the right and the Colorado River dividing them. Actually, on the right is Quechan tribal lands...
And, of course, nearly every event begins or ends with food...breakfast in an old railroad dining car. Yep...gained weight despite our activities.
We stopped by this Travel Bug hotel and picked up some TBs to move north with us. Huge...it's along side a gas station owned by a geocacher. Usually it's filled to overflowing with bugs, but lots of folks have either left for home or getting ready to leave. So they do what we did that day.
We still have some quad rides we want to take...probably a 1000 plus caches to find (not counting those in town)...restaurants to try...touristy spots to see...and Sequence games to play...but it's time to pack up. We're headed to Phoenix area for the Rally there...do some visiting...then begin meandering home. And I'm ready to be home...when the sun is out here...IT'S HOT! Too hot for all of us folks from the beautiful Pacific Northwest...LOL.
