We left Wednesday morning early from Boo n Ethel's place to add fresh water and get to the rally before noon...
When we first arrive in Yuma, we buy five one gallon jugs of water. Then we keep filling them during the season at five gallons for fifty cents at one of these stations. We also fill the RV tank, when we take off for somewhere. The water from the taps around the area is very salty.
A line of us RVs were very upset, as we watched other RVs being parked, which arrived an hour or more after we did. It seems the volunteers doing the parking hadn't noticed our line made. But after sitting for about two hours, we made sure the volunteers knew we were waiting...loudly. But after all the nonsense look at our view...beautiful desert and mountains!! Most of the folks are looking at the back or front of another RV.
Once again Camping World has the 'Match Your Number' game going. My guy is putting our numbers up on the front of our coach in hopes a match will walk by. Last year we all won a nifty...lol...t-shirt. It's the game that's fun and a way to meet more folks.
This is part of the line we're parked in...our garbage out front waiting to be picked up each morning. Most of us have our tow vehicles parked across the dirt road in front of us making room for chairs in the shade between coaches.
The crowd attending is more than anyone expected. And this is the first year at the Phoenix International Raceway. AND this is the only way into the infield, through the tunnel, where all the action is going on. Good Sam is running big trams throughout the camping area moving folks inside and back again. But it's a very slow and lengthy process. Many of us have unloaded our bicycles, quads, and little motorbikes to go back and forth. We're getting good exercise riding our bikes and then all the walking inside.
This is a shot of part of the infield...many RVs of all sizes for sale...more coming every day and used being added as the new are sold...and tents for vendors...
It was difficult to get a shot of all the RVs camping here...but all the white tops in the distance are RVs...coaches...5th wheels...trailers...campers...you name it...well, haven't seen any converted colorful schoolbuses...lol.
Last night we sat in the stands...clapped our hands...stomped our feet...sang...and danced to the last song of Bowzer and his Rock n Roll show.
Yep, Bowzer of Sha-na-na fame...and we were all doing the pose...hee-hee.
It's hot again today...in the mid 80's. We did go to the infield for a little bit. Now we're kicked back in the coach...cool...snacking...reading.
